Some Site Back-end
Posted by Ben on 4/28/2008.

I've been cleaning up some website back end and adding a few new features that will most likely be invisible to you, but immensely helpful to me. Those of you who wrote in about the RSS, thanks for pointing it out. Seems there's a bug in my comic updating code that's breaking the feed.

To everyone from DeviantArt, thank you for your continued support. Your comments keep me going (trust me) when times are hard.

One last thing - we are still sorting out those damn DNS issues. My host tells me it's the domain register's fault, and my domain register tells me it's my host's fault. If this can't be resolved, I may just have to move the site to a more reliable network.

Comics are coming. Life is just slow right now.

Need your help!

Are you an artist? Do you think you're funny?

Good! Due to my total lack of updates, a combination of laziness and packing for a move, I'm opening up guest comics to the public for the first time. I hate interrupting the middle of a story arc as much as anyone, but I'd rather see a few comics go up in my temporary absence. So E-mail me or contact me in any other way with your submission. I determine in which order submissions are used, of course, but they all go into a stack that will be used at some point when I need a save.

About Friggin' Time
Posted by Ben on 2/6/2008.

So for a good two weeks I've been trying to wait out a server move. The details are excruciatingly boring, but all this time I've not been able to see my updated site on the new server. A lot of you have probably noticed no problem unless you're like me, living in the backwaters of the midwestern internet infrastructure.

I guess the point is if my situation describes your own, you desperately need to check out OpenDNS. I saw immediate results.

In the mean time, I've finally put the finishing touches on the front page here. All the backend seems to work and life is good. Look for a new comic in the next few days.

Lazy, Thy Name Is Andrew

Oh, Strouperfans everywhere, how can I explain to you the true depth of my recent lethargy. It seems like years since I've done a news update, and even longer since I've actually written anything. The most writing I've done outside of work has been short little blurbs I'll send to my friends making outrageous claims like, "I once kicked a jelly-fish in the vagina," or, "I once joined the Justice League under the name Gonorrhea Boy, defeating my foes with my burning discharge . . . of justice!" But fear not, my devoted fans (both of you) because Ben and I are working harder all the time to actually get crap done. Stuff like girlfriends, new cars, video games, comic books, jobs, and school can only distract us for so long before we are drawn back to the mis-adventures of Strouperman and Captain Oblivious. And with those words, I bid thee a good evening. Stay cool and much love Strouperfans, Andrew

Lost? We'll throw you back where you should be. I vow not to ever make an archive page as bad as Sinfest's. Because you don't like our forums. Bored artists are a dangerous thing. The obligatory page nobody ever looks at. Confused? Don't be! Only the best of the best. Or if they throw money at us. For when the shoutbox just won't do it. Because updating the actual comic is hard!
